The
acknowledged guru of San Marcos running, Dr. Maurice “Moe” Johnson,
has been working for several years on a manual for race directors, and the manual
is now completed and available for sale. This manual is intended for anyone who
desires to organize and conduct a running/walking event, with an emphasis on
doing so in a smaller community like San Marcos.
This manual is packed with helpful information and practical tips that will help
you to have a successful event by avoiding many of the mistakes and problems
that often befall first-time race directors. It is based on valuable lessons
learned during Moe’s 20-something years of conducting races in the San
Marcos area.
The manual is priced at $50.00, with proceeds to be used by the San Marcos Runners
Club to defray expenses incurred in conducting races for local nonprofit and/or
service organizations.
