Country Estates is a subdivision on the northwest side of San Marcos that is the host of the SMRC’s annual Country
Roads 10K & Kids Run. It’s a great place to run for several reasons; (1) it’s a closed-in subdivision, so traffic is minimal; (2) you can create runs of lots of different distances by combining the various loops and out-and-backs; (3) it can be deceptively challenging with its hills and long, gradual gradients, and (4) it’s a nice environment, with very pleasant scenery and views.
