AUGUST MEETING - The August meeting of the San Marcos Runners Club will be a Run ’N’ Swim Party. It will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3rd at the Country Estates swimming pool (for a map, click here). This event will be in lieu of our regular weekly run at the Courthouse.
We will have access to the pool for a private party from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. We will start with a run through the neighborhood, after which we will have food, swimming and socializing. Pizza will be served, but you will need to bring your own beverages. Glass containers and alcohol are not allowed in the pool area.
The swimming party is included with your SMRC membership. Non-members who want to participate will be asked to pay a $5.00 fee per person. Please R.S.V.P. to Laura

Our meetings usually feature the exchange of lots of news and discussion about current goings-on in the San Marcos running community. Plus, you can meet and hang out with local runners, and maybe even line up a partner for your training runs.
Meetings of the San Marcos Runners Club are open to the public, and anyone in the community who is a runner, jogger, or walker, or who just has an interest in those activities or in fitness in general, is encouraged and welcome to attend.
Run2Purgatory - A good number of SMRC members (excepting the “Gang of Eight” who are in San Francisco for that city’s Marathon and Half Marathon) participated in this unique, one-time event on Saturday, July 24th. This was a free 2-mile/5K fun run/walk that was staged by the San Marcos Parks & Rec Department to celebrate the opening of the Wonder World Drive extension.
