NEW LOCATION FOR WEEKLY CLUB RUN BEGINNING JUNE 3RD
OK, we have been talking about doing this for a while, and now we are finally going to make the change.
We have been meeting downtown at the courthouse square for our weekly Club Run for about 7 years now. During that time, the traffic has increased to the point where it is becoming increasingly unsafe to cross the street at some of the intersections along our usual 3-mile route.
So beginning with our weekly run at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3rd, we will be meeting at the Stagecoach Professional Center, which is located at 310 Stagecoach Trail, right across the street from Hernandez Intermediate School. We will park in the parking lots closest to the street and run from there.

The new location will give us lots of options for routes of different distances within the Willow Creek subdivision, and with a lot less traffic. Willow Creek is somewhat hilly, so the routes will be a little more challenging. For longer distances, there is access to Hunter Road and McCarty Lane, both of which have nice wide shoulders that are ideal for cyclists and runners.
We will bring maps on Tuesday for a couple of routes. You can also get on MapMyRun or use Google Earth and start laying out some routes of your own.
The location for the Thursday night training run - the Lions Club tube rental building in City Park - will not change.
