Events
10K Run and Kids Run. The 10K will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.; the Kids Run will start at 9:00 a.m., while the 10K is finishing. |
Course
 |
The
10K race is on a gently rolling, certified course located entirely within the
scenic Country Estates subdivision. Runners will be challenged by the last 1
1/2 miles of the course, which is a constant, slight-but-steady upgrade. You
may occasionally see the local deer population, also out for their morning run.

Entry Fee
| The entry fee for the 10K is $20.00 until 9/13/08, and $25.00 afterward. The entry fee for the Kids Run is $7.00 with a T-shirt, or $1.00 with no T-shirt. Current students at Texas State University - San Marcos receive a $3.00 discount. |
Awards
 |
For the 10K, awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, male and female Masters winners and the top 3 male and female finishers in each age division. The awards presentation will be at 9:30 a.m. All participants in the Kids Run will receive a medal following the run. Some attractive door prizes will be given after the awards ceremony; the winners will be drawn from the pool of registered entrants in the 10K only (sorry, kids!). |
T-Shirts
All
participants in the 10K will receive a long-sleeved
Dri-Release® “Country Roads 10K & Kids
Run” T-shirt. Participants in the Kids Run (except as noted above under “Entry
Fee”) will receive a cotton “Country
Roads 10K & Kids Run” T-shirt. Shirts are guaranteed on race day to
the first 100 registered 10K participants and the first 25 registered Kids Run
participants. Shirts will be mailed within two weeks after the race to anyone
who participates in the events but does not receive their shirt on race day. |

Divisions
19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and
over.
T-Shirt Pick-Up
T-Shirts may be picked up on race day only at the registration area, beginning at 7:00 a.m. We're not stuffing packets for this race, giving you a bunch of stuff you don't want; giveaway items will be available for those who want them. |

Warm-Up
There will be an aerobic warm-up at 7:45 a.m., presented
by Naomi Medina of Heartbeat Fitness.

About the Country Roads 10K & Kids Run
The Country Roads 10K & Kids Run is the annual fundraising event for the San Marcos Runners Club; the proceeds will support SMRC projects and activities that promote exercise, fitness and healthy lifestyles in our community. The SMRC organizes and manages race events at no charge for many local nonprofit charities and service organizations in their fundraising efforts, and uses these proceeds to cover the expenses involved; so your donation ultimately benefits those groups. |
