About CASA of Central Texas (www.casacentex.org)
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers. Advocating for children in this area for 25 years, CASA acts as the eyes and ears of the Child Protection Court Judge and we “SPEAK UP” on behalf of the children’s best interests. Each year, CASA serves more than 200 children who have been placed in the care of the State due to abuse or neglect. But there are an estimated 450 or more ADDITIONAL children who do not have the voice of a CASA. The funds raised from these events will help us provide more advocates for more children. We believe that every child has a right to a safe, nurturing, permanent home.
Looking for something a little more challenging than a 5K?
Then consider entering the ARA-Moe’s Better Half Marathon, which will be held jointly with the “Speak Up For Kids” CASA 5K Run & Walk. The half marathon will start at 7:00 a.m.
