Next up for the long-distance runners that have not run a 13.1-mile half marathon distance yet - and for those that will be rested up from the Austin Half Marathon - is the ARA-Moe’s Better Half Marathon here in San Marcos at the Tanger Outlet Center on March 7th, starting at 7:00 a.m.

Early registration is mandatory, as there is no race-day registration this year. Entry can be found at many local gyms for flyers, and by going online at www.sanmarcosrunners.org and clicking on the ARA-Moe’s button for either online registrations or downloading the entry form.

If runners are not up for the half-marathon distance, the “Speak Up for Kids” CASA 5K is held at the same time, and entry forms can be found at the same web site. These races are both for worthy causes, and are a chance to get away from the running scene in the middle of a city and get out into the countryside for some very scenic and enjoyable running.

Let’s have as good a turnout for this local race as there was for the Austin run.
